This Friday, Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux will start its fourth month of the season with La Route Adélie de Vitré (1/04, 1.1), the sixth race of the French Cup. Since 2007, the classic is rider on a parcours of 198 kilometer divided in two local laps through the farmland around the Breton city.
A first loop of 21.1 kilometer has to be covered six times, after which a circuit of 8.9 kilometer containing the Côte de Chênelière (800m at 5.3%) will be accomplished eight times. In the previous autumn edition in wet circumstances, Biniam Girmay went smoothly through the small corners in the final kilometer in the centre of Vitré and sprinted to fifth place, despite a crash in front of him 500 meter before the slightly uphill finish.
20 year old neopro Hugo Page showed himself several times in the French Cup in the beginning of the season with good results in the Classic Loire-Atlantique (5th), La Roue Tourangelle (11th) and the GP de Denain (16th). Next to him, his compatriot Théo Delacroix, Dutchman Boy van Poppel and Belgian riders Tom Devriendt, Kobe Goossens and Quinten Hermans will support sprinter Gerben Thijssen under the direction of Pieter Vanspeybrouck.
