The fourth stage of the Tour of Catalunya (2.UWT) welcomed a new mountain top finish this Thursday. One day after the first GC battle on La Molina, the riders exploited the flanks of Boí Taüll, in the heart of the Pyrenees, with a finish on 2000 meter of altitude.
After the Coll de Boixols and the Port de la Creu de Perves, Jan Hirt and Louis Meintjes accompanied the best climbers on the final climb of thirteen kilometer with an average gradient of 6 percent. The winner of the Tour of Oman arrived in nineteenth position, less than one minute behind the winner. Meintjes crossed the line in 27th place and is now 24th in the provisional classification.
