Two days after completing the World Tour campaign on Il Lombardia, Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux pursues its program of races in the transalpine region, as they line up for the Coppa Agostoni (1.1, 11/10) on Monday. This one-day race, also known as Giro della Brianza, travels through the historic territory of Lombardy with a 180-kilometer route designed on the outskirts of Lissone.
From this locality, the riders will then head towards the hilly province of Lecco where they will encounter three climbs to be completed four times: Sirtori (1.2 km at 5.9%), Colle Brianza (3.4 km at 6.4%) and Lissolo (2.4 km at 7.6%). Once the last obstacle is behind them, the riders will turn back towards Lissone, where the finish is located after 23 kilometers of slightly downhill portion.
On the attack two days earlier on the last Monument of the season, Jan Bakelants will be one of the five riders of Il Lombardia to also start on Monday. He will line up alongside Estonian Rein Taaramäe, second on the same route in 2018, Lombards Lorenzo Rota (4th in 2019) and Simone Petilli, as well as Norwegian Odd Christian Eiking. The selection led by Valerio Piva is reinforced by the Italian Riccardo Minali, seventh in the Gran Piemonte last Thursday, and Frenchman Jérémy Bellicaud.
