In honor of Sicilian wine partner Vini Zabù, the eight riders of Intermarché-Circus-Wanty will present a new kit exceptionally produced by Nalini for the 106th Giro d’Italia. The new kit will be presented during the official team presentation on the Piazza Della Riniscita in Pescara this Thursday, in the heart of the Abruzzo region where the partner has its roots.
The new cycling jersey is designed in a lighter color palette, reflecting the light blue Italian sky and fertile soil. Belgian designer stycle.design imagined hills with wine ranks and translated them into abstract white lines over the whole jersey. The logo of the Sicilian winery of Fantini Group appears between the title partners on the breast of the eight riders, in addition to the traditional place on the left side of the bib shorts.

The Giro d’Italia 2023 starts this Saturday with a 20 kilometer time trial arriving in front of the castle of Ortona, where the headquarters of Fantini Group are situated. After an opening weekend in Abruzzo, the parcours crosses the four other regions on the Italian mainland in which Fantini Group is active: Basilicata, Campania, Puglia and Toscane. Thus, at the end of stage seven the vineyards of Gran Sasso are the decor of the first mountain top finish.

« At the end of 2021 I was invited in Ortona to announce the new collaboration between Intermarché-Circus-Wanty and Vini Zabù. It was a proud moment for myself to welcome the Sciotti family in our team, after spending one year in an Italian team with Vini Zabù as title sponsor. It is of great value for our team to be able to rely on partners as them, who carry cycling in their hearts. The start in Pescara brings an additional dimension to our motivation to give the best of ourselves and to show our new jersey. »

« My form in this period of the year has never been better. In my preparation I’ve done everything I wanted to do. My good feeling in Eschborn-Frankfurt confirmed that I will start my fourth Tour of Italy in top shape. During the first two weeks there are quite a lot of stages which suit me. With the team we will see the situation day by day and alternate, to go full for the highest possible result with a certain rider in each stage. Personally, I pay attention to the stage towards Bergamo, the city in which I arew up. This fifteenth stage gives me an additional incentive. But I don’t plan to wait so long to show myself! »

« We’re proud to wear new colors on the occasion of the 106th Giro d’Italia. Last year, our special ‘Vini Zabù’ edition shone on the Italian roads. I’m convinced that this jersey will bring us the same success. We’re pleased to start in Abruzzo, a region in which passion for cycling, brilliantly maintained by the Sciotti family, and wine territory, successfully promoted by the Fantini house, go hand in hand. We aim to show ourselves in the next three weeks and to wear the colors of Intermarché-Circus-Wanty and Vini Zabù with pride. »

« We are deeply grateful to Intermarché-Circus-Wanty and its big family of partners for the opportunity to present this special jersey on the occasion of an event such as the Giro, which is so important for us. This edition is even more special with the first stage taking place in our region, arriving in our city Ortona. We found in Intermarché-Circus-Wanty a fantastic family who shares the same passion for this sport. »
